Traxxas XO-1 — 2014 Version Announced

1/7-scale 100+mph 4WD RTR Electric Supercar

Splash

All new body graphics for the Traxxas XO-1 Supercar!

Traxxas put together an incredible 100+mph brushless electric ready-to-run car named XO-1 Supercar. The body on the original was available with a solid single-color paint scheme and it did not do the vehicle justice when compared to its impressive performance. Well, Traxxas has addressed this little issue by offering the XO-1 with bold new graphics that make this big, high-end 1/7-scale car truly stand out…as it should. There are now four new ProGraphix painted bodies to choose from including red, blue, black metallic-red and white-blue.

I still won't get one, but the bodies do look nice and sleek.

And the price is much lower than the original release too.

I imagine that the $300 less will help sell more of these.

I might be all over one if it was a bit less. It seems a bit of a one trick pony to me. Sure it can do 100MPH now what. I think it one of Traxxas least innovative chassis.
It looks like you still need an I-Phone or I-Pod to unlock the speed. I think these were $900.00 $1000.00 when they came out. I would be curious to know how many units they moved now at a lower price.

WoW, look at Tower... The new 2014 version costs 700 USD, just 50 USD extra for the sake of not including the batteries... Is that really such a good deal?!? xD Or am i just completely stoned, is there something i fail to see?

For some reason the mods find it okay for you to reference being stoned, but my reference is reported- not very fair

I don't own one, but would if I had a place to run it.
Most of the persons interested in this car will already have their own batteries so do not take that into consideration... I got handfuls of batteries around

It is very likely that the Tower price is tentative, especially since it says 'order pending'. I bet the price will change once they get the new XO-1's in stock.

We have a friendly competition at the LHS to see who can build the fastest car. Most everyone uses off-road chassis and fairly large tires because it's real hard to find surfaces long and smooth enough for '"road" cars. It's also damned hard to keep the cars in sight very long at over 70 mph. A car like the XO1 nearly destroyed itself hitting a crack in the pavement of the parking lot we run in. That parking lot is in a lot better shape than most of the streets.

So true. Having the correct surface for the XO-1 is key.

or a 1/5 scale off craigslist
Heck you could get a lotta stuff for that price.

Pricing aside, that doesn't take away from the cool factor for me.
I have thought this thing was awesome since the v1 was released; but like many city-dwellers I have no where I could run and stretch its legs.
