Well ... your comment is very nice.

But, for the record: My skills and knowledge of the craft rates a very poor third-place, Well behind the Germans and some other European's. And in the States I have to acknowledge Skip Asay, Mike Dorey, Art Meyer, Marc DeAntonio, and a few others who are my betters. And those damn Canadian's, Dan Kachur and Greg Sharpe, they outclass my work considerably as well.

But, thanks for the thought.

In my not too humble opinion the best of the best today is Germany's Norbert Bruggen.

technically mine can't since it has no ballast tank, but it does have the power to pop to the surface as if it's doing an emergency blow

Robbe U-47

Hi to everyone from England !
I hope the pics I have atattched come through - they are of the Robbe U-47 that I have been building and is about 80% complete.

I am also currently rebuilding an 8 foot long model of the CPR Liner Empress of Asia - but I wont post those pics here - she'd make too tempting a target with all these subs sneaking around !!

Here are some progress shots of my u47 as u1105
As u can see it is far from being completed but it will have torpedoes, working snorkel, lights, 1.5L ballast system, independant props, workinh bow planes, and active ballast if my wife will allow me to spend the money :-)
It is still missing the sonar dome at the bow, and all the details lin the tower, the weld lines, rivets, etc.....

A 1/12 effects miniature of the Civil War era submarine, ALLIGATOR. Built for filming of a Discovery Science Channel episode that will air this time next year.

About to sail. Trials next week in my pool. It's a converted Revell V11 C. Building thread is located here:

Here's some pictures in dry dock.
