I installed a camera in the push knee of a Springer tugboat and the recovery bucket.
I had 2 transmitters.
One is for submarine and another are for Springer tugboat.
I fixed a transmitter for submarines on a half throttle and hung from a neck by a strap, and operated a transmitter for tugboats, and a tugboat was done so that it might run in parallel next to the submarine.

Academy 1/150 Type IXB

Started my own Academy Type IXB conversion. I'm only going with 2 channels here, rudder and throttle. I retained the automatic dive mechanism.

Made a stuffing tube for the propeller shaft. Used a 1/8" brass tube with brass grommets for bearings.

I shaved the pins off the "radar" mast pivot and bored a hole for a 1/16" aluminum shaft I placed in the tower. I also removed the deck under the tower to access the automatic dive mechanism .

I'm very interested.
Is the linkage made bow plane additionally from a radar mast?

Oh, I made a mistake. I thought they might be able to control the kind of diving by the strength of the thrust.
I'll get a kit of a submarine newly and try by myself.

Wattechighlander,
Found another Academy Type IX conversion.
From what I understand the builder
chose to go with 2 channels only

Wattechighlander,
Very nice set up. How many degrees are yor dive planes set during surface running and how many degrees does your dive planes go up during a dive?

Thank you.
Each degrees are case by case.
Basic way of thinking.
The bow plane has big angle and wide area.
The stern plane has little angle ,because screw slipstream strengthens the power.
Each plane doesn't work ,when dead slow ahead.

hmmmm I may have to make some stealth orders and hide them in the basement till schools done... hahah ... I didn't even know about these old motorized auto diving subs! ... I'll have to put them beside the dumas bluefish and akula I have a soft spot for too! ...

even after owning a 'proper' rc sub with a subdriver WTC ..etc ... the 'old' dynamic kits still have a definate spot in my heart.
