The kickstarter path begins

Interesting to look at what big named, over hyped projects failed. It ain't the sea of instant $150,000 jackpots on the news.

Another RC controller based on the tilt sensing craze, pitched by guys with a legion of artists who were a little too zealous about an industrial design craze that never happened.

Then, there is something more similar to Marcy 1. 2 guys pledged $100 for a phone controlled copter & it failed.

On the opposite end of the spectrum, it's another phone controlled copter. He got 139 people paying $100 for a prototype. The guy just marketed it better.

Some of the failures raise an enormous amount of money in spite of their outrageous prices & few buyers. They just set their goal too high.

Something that would have raised boatloads of money 7 years ago now fails to capture the imagination.

Most of them use their own name. Few use a company name. To use a company name, they have to verify it can accept payments. It would probably cost money to set up a real company.

For all the quad copter projects in the news, it's hard to find any on that pile of clunky broken javascript that is the kickstarter search engine. Perhaps they're getting deleted after they fail.

Would expect 5 sales at most of Marcy 1, at the price required to break even. Would be happy just to get the Marcy 1 vehicle into the real world.
