Thanks for the info everyone. As soon as I sell some of my extra stuff, I will have an Alfa in my hanger.

I know you guys are correct, like I said, I've been lucky. The only real reason I use(d) it is that when I first bought LiPos, I bought a selection of different batteries. I now have enough to match a battery to a motor, with one spare 2s 1200 for anything I want to fly twice. Probably just use the 3s 2100 and the 3s 1200 in the TM400 from now on, if I can get it to ballance with the 1200. I also have a 2s2p 2400 that I use only on the SS, as it is heavier than I want in any of the Alfas, not enough v for the TM400. BTW, someone needs to come up with a shorter abreviation for the TM400, that still differentiates it from the original.

AirWarriorBelgy has used the 2s1p TP2100 packs on his TM400 with success. He does prefer the 3s pack, but the 2s does work fine.

The 2s 1200 (etec) was the first pack I used. Barely flew. WOT the whole flight, never got above 50'. Now it does anything I want. I don't know if I got something wrong, but it was VERY tail heavy. Had to add a lot of weight.

100th F4U flight today !

"Rolled her over" today..Yes, I keep a little flight log...

maiden was on 12-30-03

100 flights and no crashes.... some close calls

I'm new to rc flying ... that speaks volumes of the ALFA design..

What a great little bird !

Happy flying all,

Hooked On Flying!!!
Nice job and congrats on the #100. I have between 2 and 3 dozen on my Corsair and I thought that was alot. Of coarse the weather has not been cooperating the last couple of weeks but I would still be know where near those #'s. I would say that if you lost her tomorrow you are darn near down to $1.00 a flight. I think she has paid for herself at this point. Hope I get as much out of this fine plane as you do. I do really enjoy flying this Alfa!

P.S. Just a thought, but as you have completed 100 flights, Jim is still trying to get in his first. Go figure!!

I'm curious as to what info is in your logbook. I've never really had the dedication to actually "log" my flights. You keep tract of date, duration, what else? Do you have a log book for each plane. I'm lucky if I can remember to turn on my transmitter timer before I launch. And if I do, I forget to look at it after the flight. Do you have one book for all your planes or one book for each plane?

I keep track of my flights in an excel spreadsheet. Makes it easy to figure minutes/hours on a particular bird.

Hey, Maybe I'm missing something here,

Now, take me. I have been flying R/C for 34 some odd years, How's come, I ask ya's I never worried about all the statistics, and measurements. It most times, never applied, as in, how long will the engine last...hmmm???

I would plant most models in mama earth long before any mechanical could be blamed...

Thats all,,

Thanks Tahoe !

Keeping a log just makes the whole thing a little more fun for me..
I can read my account of how my elevator pushrod popped loose at 50'
and still landed safely..'Twas a miracle... Or how I landed but continued to slide into a ditch and land on the other side..water 1" from the motor..batt esc**WHEW**
Just fun for me...
I've been flying only 3-4 months so...I'm sure I'll become more "grizzled"
as I approach your age..If It's even possible to get that old..

Well not a book.. I keep a log in MS word .Info includes Date, aircraft, number of flights ,combo, conditions, duration, crashes near misses ,mechanical failures .Pictures etc... Just fun for me..

Like Tahoe said ,i also say hmm.. "Buck a flight, not too bad" hehe

The 100th flight was a brief 7 minutes as darkness came on quick but just as the moon was coming out...Sneaking through the hedges and carving down the dirt road @ 3' around 35 stuff!

BEST THING !!..Still not even close to bored with the ole' gal !!...
I'm trying to fly "map of the earth" at high speed and just carve nice turns... She's such a sweet flyer...Even with a little slop in the left elevator surface,a little bindage I haven't bothered to do anything outside try a few different combos earlier on..

The last 40 or so where on
mp 2525 2s1p tanic 1500 9x6 SF
that's what'll stay in 'till she gives up the ghost..

What does your wife think of the "other woman"?

What ESC and servos are you using on your Corsair?

I probably will, as I have a personal connection to the Tiger Moths. When I was about 7, I got to ride up front in one and actually got to steer. I think I was 9 when I stopped telling the story every day... To this date, I have had 37 Tiger Moth models in various forms, including 4 R/C versions.
