Tech One Yak 55 EPP 3D Foamie

A Durable Fun Foamie for 3D Fun Flying

Splash

Simple, Durable, Fun

The new Tech One Yak 55 bills itself as a plane built for 3D aerobatics. It can be fun in the hands of pro pilots as well as those just wanting to learn the basics of 3D flight. The EPP foam construction is super durable and can withstand some pretty serious impacts without taking any damage. This gives new 3D pilots the confidence to bring it down low where you can better see what is happening and improve your skills faster.

The controls are just right with large flying surfaces and live hinges offering huge control throws. It can also be tamed down with the included smaller control horns and some radio magic if you are not ready for extreme throws. They call it an ARF, but it does include the power system and servos. You'll only need to provide a receiver and a 2S 400-500mAH Lipo battery to get it flying and it only takes around 30 minutes to put together. [NitroPlanes]

I was hoping to see some additional reviews and flight videos of this plane and the others in the series, especially the Sbach 342.

Looks very similar to some of the more expensive brands, but price isn't always the most important factor.

Sorry to bring this from the dead, but did you have any more opinions?
