yes, I will take a video sooner while in water, and yes, this motor is HSP 3300 kv brushless.

can someone tell me, what is the exact measurement of this boat's center of gravity with stock electronics? cause I will re-adjust after brushless conversion.

Thanks Madman, thought I recognised that motor. Thanks in advance for some video. Wish I had a stock FT009 to give you that CG measurement !

WOW!! That looks great.

Can't wait to see the videos with details on how you did the brushless conversion.

009

I BIG MISTAKE in advise. I gave out thru private email on 009............................................... .................................. about bouncing of 009 and was thinking of a regular mono setup to eliminate bouncing which was dead on. There's nothing a 009 owner can do to stop the bouncing except buy a boat hull ( 009 ) and set it up to be a surface drive unit which can be done. That gives me an idea and am going to do that very thing. I have extra 009 motors and will use .130 cable, stuffing tube, 632 prop, liner and lipos too. So long gentlemen!

Prop shaft sticking

I Had a slight mishap yesterday on the water. After running three batteries in succession without much of a break between them (motor wasn't getting hot so I thought everything was fine), the prop shaft stuck to the stuffing tube and required more than a little force to turn the prop, way more than the third battery had After pulling the boat apart to inspect the shaft and stuffing tube I didn't find anything wrong so I guess it's just a case of it getting too hot and there not being enough grease or oil. Will re-grease it and it should be fine.

Has anyone else had this problem with the FT009 ? I think this has been what you've been alluding to Dennis in some of your posts re metal on metal creating too much heat.

I've finished 3 batteries a few times in a row, but I have not encountered a similar problem,
I do not think there will be a jam due to heat, maybe enter something into the tube and stuck.
greasing the shaft is required a lot of screws to be removed so I'm too lazy to do it but so far not a problem.

cg is 4.545-lenght is 15.15 divided by 100 x 30 =4,545" from transom. 30 is approximate cg line which will vary with different lipo sizes.........................The factory motor weights 6.59 oz , while a 1500 mah lipo weights 3.24 oz. So the lipo must weight approximate 1/2 of the motor. I got this off T-mart. Tmart 1500 mah is 88 g - at 15c--------2200 is 90 g at 15c. so your talking for a 2200 at 3.32 oz. give or take. The 3300 inrunner weight is what?

That motor is an in-runner ,,,,,that's why. If an out-runner motor was used that feature might still work.

Thinking about buying the FT009 for my GodSon. I bought my nephew the WLToys 912, he hasn't ran it yet because Banggood sent me one that didn't work, or at least the battery was bad (Automatic red blinking when plugged in to charger, non stop), waiting to figure that out still.

My question though is , is the Ft009 comparable in speed and size to the WL912 Boat? I hope to end up buying them similar matched Boats so they can terrorize eachother and compete / race eachother etc.

I own the FT007 that they have played with several times and they really enjoyed it but as the RC uncle I'm needing another Boat for my GodSon to keep them happy lol. Advice? Thanks in advance.
