Trex 150 vs 130x

So trex is coming out with this new "better" heli called the 150dfc. Is it really better that the 130x. It has a tail motor not a shaft driven which is a minus right? And the as3x is better than 3gx right? Any input would be apreciated.

this convo is over on helifreak already. when they first announced the trex 150 it was labeled the 130x killer... but then they showed the tail motor not to mention align is late to the party, and that you need to buy extra to use spectrum when every great micro heli basically made since everyone predates the new 150 uses spectrum already and that is what most have makes it suck to me

but its really more of comparing it to the mcpx brushless and not the 130x .because with its brushless tail its not even in the same league its just a big mcpx really

I don't see why you would vote on a bird nobody has flown. And why are you insulting Walkera? The V120D02 is the one to compare to anyway.

The Trex 100 was a major disappointment and the Align quad is a rebranded WL Toys model. That's not a good recent history. I would definitely wait and see.

I own the 130x, several Aligns (250 and 450) and several other Blades. IMHO the 130x is probably the worst of the Blade line, and the forums are full of unhappy 130x flyers. I wish I would have read them before I bought one.

My point - it would not be hard for anything Align makes to be better than the 130x.

People like the 130x IF and AFTER they get it to fly properly, which typically costs the price of a number upgrades from third parties. At that point, everyone hates to crash one, since it usually involves gears that need to be replaced, ie a complete tail overhaul. Once you touch the tail, it will be trial and error to get it to work again. The 130x is hard to maintain, but fun once you get it dialed in. On the other hand, when I wad up my Trex 250 it is straight forward to get it flying again, and not a mystery as to what makes it fly right.

I am cautious before I buy a Trex 150. But, it would be hard for Align to be worse than the Blade 130x.

You must also remember that the mCPX BL is also a "130X killer". If you read the mCPX BL thread, it is clear that quite a number of people, including committed 3D fliers have stopped flying the 130X in favor of the mCPX BL. However, the mCPX BL do have a number of problems of its own which I hope will be addressed by the Trex 150.

The 3GX is a full sized independent FBL system found in larger helis. As such, it is way superior to the AS3X that is found in micro helis and planes. The 3GX should really be compared to the BeastX. However, it is uncertain whether the 3GX is used in the Trex 150. There are reports that it has piro compensation thought that the AS3X does not have.

Not sure the meaning of this poll. This is comparing different helicopters. Trex 150 has tail motor. Should be compared with MCPx BL and Super CP. These are 100 size helicopters with tail motor. Genius is obsolete, so no point including that in the poll.

130X should be compared with V120D02S. Both are bigger 150 size with tail shaft.

Then where the heck does the Trex 250 come from. Is a much bigger helicopter. Not even a micro. Should probably think about what the point of this poll is then come back with a modified one.

with the amount of aftermarket parts available on the can literally build your own micro, to your specs, for around the same price. (maybe a little more) but it's worth it because you have exactly what you want. That's what i'm doing at least and there's a few others who have gone this route as well.

My vote is other.

I had the 130x Red Bull model and sold it. Maintenance was more hassle than I wanted to deal with.

I really like mine also. I've crashed a few times and broke a servo and of course stripped the plastic tail gears. I've replaced all those and love the thing now. I like the mcpx bl also but too fast for me to keep track of. The 130x is slow enough that I have time to think

How is comparing a years old 250 size heli to one half the size and with a tail motor that no-one outside of the factory has yet flown a POLL???? It's like comparing Tuesday with a piece of string.
