Very first plane - L.E.G F6F Hellcat

Hello everyone! My name is Erik and I am VERY new to this sport. I just wanted to thank Rich (Hellcatman) for introducing me to Slope gliding and also being a tremendous source of help/info on this plane. I've only been out of the cave(work) to fly a few times so I'm sure that this Hellcat won't last too long after I get it in the air. Jack, thanks for the hookup and I owe you...I'm sure that spar will hold up! I have another pic to follow this one. I apologize for the poor quality...decent digital video, not good for stills.

Another picture

Here's the other picture. I learned quite a bit from this plane so I am hopeful to do a much better job on the next.

I did luck out on working with Rich. There is no doubt about that. But Jack, you gave me some of the low-down while I watched you work on a P-40. I am looking at getting your 60" P-51 or ME109 (hopefully before too long). That spar that you gave me is pretty stinkin' thick. I think that spar will remain after I tear the wing off. I wanted to thank both Jack and Rich for their input. As for the in-flight pics, I'll have someone ready at launch so when I nose it in to the ground, I'll have something to post.

Looks very nice-- especially if it's your first!! I've seen LOT's of planes from pilots that have been building for years not turn out so nice! Good attention to detail-- and nice paint scheme!!

Thanks for all the positive feedback! I must say that the camera hides quite a bit which is cool with me. We have some CG to find today and if the weather is nice, I may have some pics to post tonight. <fingers crossed>
