New Sport Boat from Helion RC

The Lagos Sport boat from Helion RC is a great looking boat for small ponds and pools. It comes complete with everything you need including a 2.4GHz radio system, 2S 700mAH Lipo battery and charger, and the AA batteries for the transmitter. It also includes some nice extras like a display stand and a nose cover that protects the hull from damage.

The electronics are water sealed so no worries about flipping it over, but if it does happen, they've included a unique self righting function on the transmitter that lets you flip the boat right side up and keep on driving. It's fun on the water and a great value for the price. Check them out at Helion RC.

Looks like a decent boat. I was surprised how fast it looks. I might have to pick this one up.

The local Hobbytown USA has these in stock.

Same boat as the Serpent 2 from HobbyKing and FT007 from other sellers. Or at least scary similar.

I just looked today to see if there were other threads on this boat yet. Not a whole lot of activity here.

My boat doesn't seem as fast as the ones in the videos I've seen. I wonder what hop-ups there are.

Warning Speculation!

Motor is listed as 370 brushed (on the Serpent 2) which is .....24 - 25 mm diameter? Suppose it would be possible to use a brushless inrunner (cooling issues?). Obviously a ESC and receiver would be necessary unless you located a PWM signal point and used a modified firmware for the ESC. Finally maybe alternate props for more pitch?

Any know the true range on this? I just got one, and it goes out of range at about 50 feet.... no failsafe either, it just keeps going till it hits the other side of the lake... It is fast and pretty stable, I would love it if I could drive it more than 30 feet away reliably....

I haven't officially measured mine, but I'm sure I'm 75-100 ft at least on mine with no problems.

Look at Helion Warranty before buying

.....We warranty that the Product(s) purchased (the "Product") will be free from defects in materials and workmanship when the product is new (before being used) for the limited warranty term period, 30 days, from the date of purchase by the Purchaser.

Really before being used!

yea, hobbytown wouldn't take mine back because I had used it... well, how would I have known it only had a 50' range if I didn't use it? Of course its free from defects before you plug in the battery....
