Gryphon Dynamics Multirotor Frames. Thinking Way outside The box!

Multirotor frames are all a bit different and yet the same, until now. The Gryphon Dynamics line of multi rotor frames are really unique and technically an engeneering marvel.

When eight motors is simply not enough!

I have seen a lot of multi rotor frames. And many are very well engineered and work very well. but it’s been a while since i have seen a frame that I looked at and was just dumbfounded at the level of engineering and though that was put in to it. This happened last night as i was cruising the interwebz and came across Gryphon Dynamics. To say these frames are unique is basically an understatement. just a quick glance and you notice the Y’d out arms, the integrated red aluminum parts. Everything about these frames shouts “Find out more!” And so I did.

It seems that Gryphon Dynamics has thought of it all. You need folding? They do that. You need quickly removable arms? They do that. You need a mega lift twelve bladed Dodecahedra copter? They do that. Gryphon Dynamics really has pretty much thought of it all, and the final result is impressive!

Different Models

Gryphon Dynamics offers four major frame configurations

  • X8
  • Hexa
  • Octo
  • Doddeca

Octagonal Hollow-Molded U.S.F.S (Ultra Sturdy Frame Series)

Geometric shapes, designed to HoneyComb Maximum load : 100Kg

Gryphon-Configuration (3 min 35 sec)

X8/HEXA/OCTO/DODECA/DECIMA Series Folding-Type Airframe Kit

Heat Sink ESC Mounts

Power Distribution System

The Gryphon Power Disc Dual BEC. Dual voltage BEC regulator designed for Multirotors systems. It accepts voltages inputs from 14.4V up to 30V(4~7 LiPo Cells), and has 2 independant BEC outputs. User selectable 5.6~8.4V, 5A on BEC1 output (For Camera, Retractable landing gears, Gimbal servos, flight controllers…) And 12V, 3.5A on BEC 2 output (Camera, Video Transmitter, LEDs..)

Core PCB for Folding ARM

Motor Mount Thrust Vectoring Angle Adjustment -6º ~ 0º ~ +6º

These frames are truly a work of art! To see more check out: Gryphon Dynamics

3 Letters is all I can say.... OMG!

This is some fine stuff here. I bet it's gonna cost a lot

I saw those online too. They look really well built. I wonder how they fly?

They must fly like SOLID GOLD because the amount of machining and design is on the upscale side for sure. I have not seen prices but they can't be cheap, but would be nice if they were affordable.

The engineering looks outstanding!! As far as price, they are expensive, but you are getting what you pay for in my honest opinion.

That's state of the art engineering. Good looking, well made and incredibly stiff construction.

Hope one day, I've the money to take the one with 12 motors to put a nice FPV system with Gimbal and Nex-5N cam under the copter

best regards

heh. a bit overkill for just Nex5 on Gimbal for FPV with these frames.

Yea I think these frames are oriented at the PRO AV market where air travel/box packing is a must.

The other commercial rigs like a DW Sky Jib or other high end airframes all run in upwards of $2500 - $4500 for the frame alone and most are a PIA to pack. I’m pretty sure these guys are not targeting the ocasional hobbyist!

I love the boom plugs, this is one of the thing I never have understood why we don't see more of (especially with so many 3D printers out there..)

I travel a lot with my copters so this is a big thing for me, I really hope that others come up with this.

That's only the fist step. After that, something like a Canon XA10 or Casio EX-FH25 will take place on it. With a ground station to fly up to 14'000 feet. (I know, I live in a high altitude place )

Best regards
