Short-coupled so it could fit on a carrier's elevators; which led to the size of the control surfaces.
I like that it has natural ducts for dumping the ESC cooling air.

There is a user here on RCG that wrote a nice book about the Skyshark, Gerry Markgraff. I have not seen any recent posts by him, but looks like he's still around.
