Skyzone FPV Goggles

Foxtechfpv.com introduces a pair of video goggles with some interesting new features.

Splash

Diversity, head tracking, and a forward facing camera.

The new Skyzone fpv goggles from foxtechfpv.com are similar in style with the current leader in video piloting goggles: FatShark. But with an advertised 854x480 dual monitors (640x480 for the FatShark Dominators) and an integrated diversity receiver with dual antenna sma plugs, the Skyzone's might just be the next best thing for goggle jockeys.

The Skyzone's come with the standard assortment of accessories: a nice little case that fits the goggles AND the accessory cables (thank you!), a pair of 5.8gHz antennas, and a self-calibrating head tracker that foxtechfpv claims contains "a very complicated composition of gyro, inertial, and compass." While the forward facing camera is more of a novelty, we're sure it would be exciting to cruise around your neighborhood on your bicycle with bionic vision!

Specs:

Built-in 32CH 5.8G Diversity that is compatible with most FPV 5.8G transmitters on the market(Foxtech, dji, walkra etc)

  • Built-in self calibrating headtrack which is a very complicated composition of gyro, inerial and compass
  • Builti-in Dual 854X480(WVGA) Monitor, 1,229,760 color sub-pixels
  • Built-in external camera for surrounding view (640X480)
  • AV in/ AV out/ Earphone socket

Includes:

  • FPV GOGGLE x1
  • Carry case x1
  • Futaba data cable x1
  • JR data cable x1
  • WFLY data cable x1
  • AV cable x1
  • Power cable x1

If it flies, I like it.
I like it. However, what is the point of that camera?

Instead of taking the goggles' off of your face, you can switch that Camera ON,
and LOS land your plane:-)

I have a pair.

Have not flown with them yet. But not 100% convinced on the resolution. It ever so slightly stretches the OSD text.

Hopefully will fly with them this w/end.

Meaning you think they are being dishonest about the resolution?

I wonder how the resolution is... whether its easy to identify a planes orientation 200m out on approach.

if I may, I think he means that: numbers are numbers when it comes to advertising, and real world comparisons can often provide better insight.

As I have a pair.

The resolution is as they state. Quite high.

I have the skyzones, and the boscam aio goggles. As for a personal preference.. difficult to say!

The aio goggles have a 640x480 resolution. What I find is when I use them, everything feels like it is 1 is to 1 in size.

With the skyzone.. the same things are a bit smaller. As if further away. But the pixel density is higher.

Cant say for certain yet which I prefer :-)
