I thought I would open up a section of my blog for eye candy.

I cut a whole bunch of highload 60 tail and wing cores and turns out a softer lighter foam is more suitable for textreme wings so Im not seeing uber light weight parts just yet but the highload 60 is much more dent resistant. My next foam cutting session will be when I up my game and start doing full carbon parts. Its just so darn nice to work with and even nicer to gaze upon.

Well thanks Bob. I'm trying to do us Canucks proud.

I'm liking this look as well. Neon green when the blue foam colour bleeds through the yellow pigmented epoxy

Finished a nice set of kevlar EDGE wings today. Just a touch of yellow pigment with the yellow kevlar hides that light blue foam bleeding through. I also made the bright red stripe a bit louder by spraying white over the red on the mylars. It makes the red richer. Must experiment more

Been looking at better , faster way to mask off my mylars in preparation for painted to yet again , add more colour [yes, this how you spell colour ]

Been combing the neighbor looking for a small scrap of steel and plan to use magnets to hold the stencil in place.

Debunking the skins from excess clear resin and then using a pink pigmented epoxy then debunking once again.
I wanted to make a shield to help apply the TE strip . Worked out pretty good.

Finally got to bagging a tail part with http://www.hyperflight.co.uk/product...abric-30-39g-m

Nice material to work with and the best bag for the buck when it comes to lightweight carbon skins. The material is already on the backing sheet with the tow on a bias so there is very little waste. I was able to shave a little over a gram from the part compared to using 1.6 glass. About two grams lighter than full textreme 65 gram spreadtow fabric. Im impressed with the strength / weight ratio and easy of handling with this Carboline material. Neil delivered it within 2 weeks from the other side of the Atlantic. Good stuff!

Finally getting around to do my own wing for the coming season. This one is going to be a textreme D-box wing with carbon rod spars and carboline aft section.

This is going to be the layup for wings in the future as I get away from building glass wings.
