Assault 700 DFC - Hobbyking's 700 size is HERE!

Well, it's here. Looks cool. $215 for a kit. That's way cheap. So cheap I even thought about clinking the buy button (although my HK550 is still unbuilt). If it weren't for the batteries being so darned expensive!!!! I'll get one when they come out in the USA warehouse. So is this Align compatible? Would be a good thing because it gives you an option for parts to upgrade as necessary. And another source for parts when HK is out. So what do you guys think?!?!?

wow, you are fast to post this helicopter. It will be great if HK can do wild 3D flight without the background music. The green canopy looks great. Anyone can help to calculate the ready-to-fly price for this kit, as compared to Align? It will be a great help to the newbie in 700 machine.

I also just saw that on their site. Does it have a motor bearing block?

Yeah, I looked at this thing too.

I dunno... I've flown a lot of HK helis, and while the quality isn't actually as bad as some would say, it's not great. On the HK600, the aluminum parts are cast, not machined from billet. Therefore they are made from a casting alloy, and are very, very soft. Very easy to bend. They have absolutely no advantage over simple plastic parts.

I like some of the things about this machine, particularly the 3rd bearing block. But the support for the top bearing block looks very weak.

I guess the big question is if its a trex clone so parts can be replaced as they fail. If its a new design then it will be a pain to deal with.

For sports/mild 3D (according to video) seems ok...

Doubt it can take anymore than that. I will not be getting one...been burned with clones several times (completely my fault trying to save money, ended up spending more!!)...

0 issues with my 3 name brand helis.

I'm also tempted by this, would make a great cheap large beater. The overall design looks like a blade 700. Better to wait until the US warehouse stocks them to save on shipping.

You guys are much nicer about this than over at helifreak. They are ripping it to shreds! Competing on what most insulting name they can make up for the next HK heli! It's pretty funny, really. But shipping is $70 anyway. Just too much. I still haven't seen anyone post if this is a trex 700 clone. I thought I remember seeing bellcranks on a trex 700. If Align parts fit it, that's great cause you can't depend on HK for parts. They are out of stock for months sometimes.

How many of them have actually seen OR flown it? None.
How many of them are actually team pilots? Mmm
Usually the people that "rip it to shreds" are doing so to justify the large money they wasted on something the same. I see this all the time in this hobby. Goblin, ALign, they all have issues and lets face it are overpriced. What you pay for IS NOT what you always get.

Anyway, lets not turn this topic into one of those bashing ones.
The heli looks good, it's made in another factory, uses good bearings and it is an amazing price.
Only after someone actually gets one can anyone say yea or nea.
