As a start this is the list of components I used to do my Futaba FX-18 to Open FX-18 conversion:

I did a very simple conversion using a HK T6 transmitter and a Turnigy 9XR main pcb.
The 9XR connector pinouts are in a pdf file here.
There is no display, it is running er9x firmware, and holds one model that is loaded or modified with eepe.

I prefer the rectangular ones, because they are a bit smaller than the square ones.
Plus they have plenty extra holes for crystal, capacitors, and some spare VCC and GND connectors.

In the picture on Ebay it looks as if pin 25 on the 0.5mm pitch adapter board is not connected to anything...
Is that correct ? Didn't that cause problems with your LCD?
