Ben
I have no experience with it so it might indeed have an issue. All I know is a client who designs bomb sniffing robots really liked it.

IBcrazy, I know you (only?) use goggles. But to start out I want to use the monitor of my computer. How do I know if my screen will blue-screen or not?
Someone told me to take out the video input, to see what would happen.
My screen went black and after 3 seconds there was a blue rectangle ''no video signal''.

How do I know if my screen will blue-screen?
If it does, are there any other cheap systems I could use? anything over $50 and I will save up for the goggles.

Thanks

oh I forgot, could I use a normal laptop? I think I saw it before, but it could have been used for the recording

So this looks like my updated shopping list with the bluebeam antennas. So I guess I'll have two Mad Mushroom antennas on my RX?

$99.00 D58-2 5.8 Ghz Diversity Receiver: http://www.foxtechfpv.com/d582-58g-d...ver-p-592.html

$64.95 5.8 GHz Bluebeam Ultra Antenna Set (RHCP) for RX & TX http://www.readymaderc.com/store/ind...oducts_id=1255

$44.99 5.8 GHz Mad Mushroom Antenna (RHCP) for 2nd antenna in RX http://www.readymaderc.com/store/ind...oducts_id=1253

$39.99 200mw VTX http://www.foxtechfpv.com/foxtech-58...ter-p-179.html

$95.99 8 inch monitor http://www.foxtechfpv.com/foxtech-m8...tor-p-644.html

$8.49 GoProHD Camera Cable (Video Only) http://www.readymaderc.com/store/ind...roducts_id=257

I think this should get me started in the right direction? I plan on getting some sort of OSD, but I'm still researching, unless someone will chime in with their personal favorite?

Thanks again!

100$ for a 8inch screen?
Did you consider to buy goggles? not that much more expensive than this price.

You need three RPSMA adapters for the BluBeams to work with the FoxTech.

Also, a better setup would be an airscrew for your aircraft and two 7.5dbic helicals for the receiver (aim them 75 degrees apart). This will give better video and longer range and will save you about $30 in the process

I used a laptop when I first started. I just shoved it in side a cardboard box. Worked fine. The best way to see if you have a blue screen issue is to just turn off your transmitter. If it doesn't go blue, you're good to go.

Thanks guys!

So I changed up my shopping list again and is this the correct Airscrew antenna for the TX in the aircraft?

$34.95 5.8 GHz Airscrew Cloverleaf Ultra Antenna (RHCP) http://www.readymaderc.com/store/ind...oducts_id=1254

Then I'll get two of the 5.8 GHz 3 Turn Helical 7dBic for my diversity RX

29.99 (x2) 5.8 GHz 3 Turn Helical 7dBic http://www.readymaderc.com/store/ind...oducts_id=1089

I checked everyone of IBCrazy's authorized vendors and it seems that this 3 Turn Helical is out of stock everywhere. I think I might could make one, but would really rather an expert do it.

Thanks again!

I understand, but that means I have to wait till I get the transmitter.
The transmitter is the same as the video input?
If not hw do I know if the screen will turn blue? In my previous post I told you what happened when I took the video input out.

How do I know if my laptop won't have the blue screen problem?

Many thanks

I'll open the casings so I can see myself what's inside, I was sure it was cloverleaves, but now that you say it...

Alex, I would also like to know what you think of the Spironets.

Geoff - The SpiroNets are fair at best. They do work, just not as well as the authentic hand-made units. On the other hand, they do perform much better than stock whips and they have a nice protective cover on them. In general, those looking for durability without top-notch performance will be happy with the Spiro's.
