First "mid body designs" were old, and every racer company went with forward swept, now that all have adapted, we "ride the wave back" to classic mid body.
![]() Not that I mind, I love mid/mid-rear design buggy bodies. Same with the belt drive vs shaft drive, it's all coming back it seems. But apart from those first thoughts, it looks like an interestingly engineered car. It's certainly different. |

I agree. I am curious to see how it does at the IFMAR Worlds this week in Cali.

Btw, I think it would have been better to call it the "24", for someone not very informed the 22-4 sounds like the latest version of the 2WD 22 buggy.
Someone pointed out to me it looks a lot like the XX4... |

24 seems to make more sense as the name to me too, but keeping the 22 name will probably drive awareness more.
I think the mid cab body vs a cab forward probably has to do with weight distribution, a cab forward will give more downforce up front, but with the forward motor it might not need it. |

looks like it will arrive 1/27/14 at A main hobbies (TLRO3005)
since my Avante was my first 4x4 buggy now a shelf dust collector and being my RB6 was a treat. being the LHS (Hobby Town) seems to have readily available parts being one of their in house brands. i like the fact of the Front One-Way Clicker or Full-Time 4WD. LA Parts house 1/20/14 |

That is certainly an unconventional design. I'm not quite sure how I feel about it yet.
I do like the comeback of belt drive though ![]() |
