Pololu gearbox fail

The attraction to this gearbox was that it was open, allowing you to disassemble it more easily.

It turned out extremely tiny.

The motor was bolted on, but the gearbox doesn't come apart.

The pinion gear couldn't be removed without destroying it. It has a 1mm shaft & 2.4mm outer diameter. These details aren't given on the internets.

It would require grinding down the stepper motor shaft to exactly the right diameter, not likely to happen with hand tools.

There is exactly 1 pinion gear remover which can remove a 1mm shaft, the mighty e-flite pinion puller, but it breaks easily. It would require fabricating replacement pins out of a steel rod.
