I am building a couple 1m wings for my next project. Keep it simple and light.

Maybe ? I wonder about the wings ...

If you mean this one - I'm afraid it's a POS. I bought it to compare it to the Lidl glider, but it's soft, weak and no cheaper. The glider turned up in a plastic bag wrapped in packing tape which severely mangled the tail sections and even with hot water I was unable to bend it back without it breaking - not unrepairable but enough hassle to piss me off so that'll stay on the back burner until I'm bored enough to get around to fixing it. BTW, Lidl gliders are excellent - very strong EPP and convert to RC or slope use very well indeed

Yeah , ordered 2 .. About $8 USD each shipped ...

Lidl Glider ! , can't get one of those .. Cant even get the 600mm Gliders some people enjoy .
The 350 and 480 are really too small .. ( RC'ed them )

I want to see ..... + There are work around's for soft N weak .
Not sure what direction I will take , maybe motor glider ? Will see .....

1m DLG finished today. I used three HK5330 servos and a 1s 150mA battery. AUW 110g.

boa, what thickness and material are the tail feathers now? Is the stabilizer
/elevator covered with tape or only the just the hinge line and middle for mounting?

Thanks

On the 1m I used 1/16" balsa uncovered and tape covered area for hot glue mounting.

Maiden flight today. Flies great.

Looking good, boa.

What kind of wing construction techniques are you using these days? Are you still using four pieces of foam, paper off inside of foam, sanded into airfoil, and glued together?

Or have you figured out a new technique?

Same technique but I am sanding some on the leading edge area before glueing. Only need one strip of foam to cap LE and shape a good airfoil.

I like looking for lift low. I don't get nervous about damaging my planes.
