Thank you for compliments . Is there a vendor that sells cockpit kits
for the F-86?

Semi retired now and finally have time to do some building. Lot of reading over the years on this forum but very little posting. Plan to start sharing
my builds on regular basis. F-86 coming along nice. My son applied the clear coat and it turned out beautiful. Decided to go with no duct work.
Cut off a short extension and glued on to just clear nose gear. Hitec 82mg servos. Pushrods are solid 1/16 wire and are slop free. Rudder servo is
installed in vertical stab. Picked up a Jeti 12 channel assist receiver and plan to try out the gyro. I have a BVM F-86 started and plan on tracing the
interior kit and scaling down the parts to fit this F-86. Weekend plans are to install servos and landing gear in wing .

Looks good ...needs a inlet lip if not using a duct. Ck with Gary at Efflux RC he may have a inlet ring that will fit.

You really should use full ducting in that model!

Some rolled fiberglass sheet might work to go from whats there to the fan .

I have a plug made for the intake duct. Plan on flying first with no duct work , then install the intake duct and see what the difference is.

My first lay up was to heavy so I cut it up and tacked glued on what you see in picture. First time ever for this and was a learning experience.
Next layup will try light weight cloth and less epoxy resin.

I have made a lot of ducts (several hundred) i would use one layer of 9oz fiberglass cloth(or 5.8 oz C/F) for a high powered 90mm fan. One layer that is cut out of the cloth on a 45 degree angle. Should only take 1.5 oz of resin,2 at the most.

Thanks for the info. I used 2 layers of 6 oz and 3 oz plus of resin.

A one layer 9oz is good, you can add a wrap of C/F tow in the middle if needed. You only need it wet enough to fill the weave to the point that there are no pinholes. You should not have wet puddles on the glass.

Mounted switch and cut my intake in half. I cut two rings for the intakes and glued onto each half.
Four magnets to hold in place. Batteries will fit alongside duct work. Remove intake duct to install
batteries . Pilot is Motion RC pilot for their F-86. Ordered canopy and with interior and cut it up to fit
my bird. Need to do final programming on radio, mount batteries and c/g and she ready for test flight !
