Servo problem, please help...

Hello, I have a Hitec HS-55 servo, when I plug it into the receicer with the battery pack attached and I move the stick it makes a faint noise but no movement. I tried the same receiver and battery pack on another HS-55 and it works so that cant be the problem. Anyone have any ideas about what this is and how to fix it? Also the receiver wires going into my Rondo 400 ESC ripped off (going into the ESC). How would I know which wires to solder where? Thank you very much for your help!!!

Are you sure that you have the servo plugged in correctly?

Sounds like it's backwards.

If you are sure the servo is bad, after checking the coonections and other channels. It may be bad. I had 1 bad Hitec servo once and just got it replaced at the LHS.
You could also ask Mike M on the "ask Hitec" thread in open and send it in.

On the Rondo ESC, (RX lead on top and from the back (componet side);

Signal (orange) goes on the left
Power (red) goes in the center
Ground (brown) goes on the right

Servo Problem

Hey Fred,

I have had the same problem before. It's usually the plastic gears are stripped out. Get a rebuild kit or send it back to Hitec for repairs. Happy flying Art

I agree with Art. sounds like you had a crash and the little servo gears are delicate and frequently get stripped. Gears are cheap, under $5 unless metal.

Replacement is easy, but you should get someone to show you how the first time. If you have no one to help, ask on the ezone for a detailed description. We've all done it.

If you do take it apart, try to keep the gears in place when removing the cover so you know which gear goes where! They only go in one way but it can take a while to figure out if you lose track!

Replacement Gear Sets!

I have recently noticed that my LHS has begun stocking replacement gear sets for the small Hitec servos.

If this guy is stocking them, this must be a common problem.
