Apprentice S issues

When doing the pre fight servo test all worksd fine, then I turn the radio off and walk the plane to the field and the servos on my aierlons keeps flapping then then stop with the aierlons in the up position.

What would cause the servos to go crazy like this?

never turn the radio off before disconnecting the battery from the plane. i had a micro edf go full throttle on me when i accidentally shut the radio off before disconnecting the battery. you wouldn't want that on the apprentice.

So that's not an issue with the plane. It's an issue with unsafe operation of the plane.

You always want to know that your radio is in control of the plane. That means the first switch you turn on is your transmitter. Then when you turn on your plane's radio it immediately looks for a transmitter and finds yours.

If you turn off your transmitter before the plane, the receiver starts looking for something else to lock on to. Something you have no control over. That's bad. Turn off the plane first, while it is still listening only to your transmitter. Then switch off the transmitter last.

You'd be amazed at the dangerous things that have happened to people who didn't pay close attention to that. That's not a propeller on the front of your plane, it's a meat cleaver. You're the meat.

Very important! Classic new guy mistake.
No worries we've all done it. Now don't do that again.!!!
Make it a habit to power up and down in the correct order.

Thanks for all of the input. Wow a rookie mistake. Good thing I had enough commonn sense not to attempt a take off after this happened.

Another mistake I see quite often is not taking the radio with you when you go to pick up the plane after a landing or a crash. Always keep the radio in your hands until the plane is unplugged. Your plane probably would have operated normally after you turned the radio back on, but it's a really dangerous thing to do. I suggest reading the entire manual - do not skip or skim, read every word.

Go here and read the first thread. Then look down the page and you will see a thread for the SAFE Apprentice.
