Hi Arrow5,

The plane kdwzagi is building looks very similar to a plan I got in RCM&E some time back.

I found the plans last night and discovered that my plans are for a OS25 engine.

But the pics look the same, thats why I was asking.

Cheers

Right Gardell, it is a bonny wee thing. Can you remember the issue it was in. I might be tempted for a spare 25. It has the look of a Peter Miller design ?

Just stumbled across this thread and it brought back such great memories of just starting out in RC planes years ago. I was always a fan of Randy Randolph and his designs. I have two, the one pictures in pink is the BeeTween. Its running an 049 texaco with a 7x4 prop, HS-81 servos, and an old AM 114 Futaba Rec with Attack transmitter. Haven't flown it in 8 or 10 years. My other 1/2a is an ACE T-6 which Randy Randolph built himself for an article in Model Airplane News magazine. I aquired the plane through a long time friend of Randys. Its yellow. My other plane I haven't a picture of but its one of ACE's 1/2a mach none. I've flown it with a 049 blackwidow. It really flies good and rolls are really fast and smooth. Its elevator and aileron only. My last plane isn't a 1/2a because it powered by a TD010. Its the Littlest Stick kit from way back that came in a little plastic bag instead of a box. All up weight RTF with motor, radio, and fuel was just shy of 3 ounces. That little 010 was a screamer. Thanks Ray

1/2A is under .05.

.15 is A

.15 and under is a mistake on the RC Groups forum description.

Oops my mistake. An old guy who owned a local hobby shop close to me told me once that the 010 was actually a 1/8a. Guess he was joking and forgot to tell me. ha ha. Doesn't really matter what you call it, that little 010 runs just as good as the 049's! Thanks Ray

1/2A is the smallest official class. People commonly refer to an .020 as 1/4A and an .010 as 1/8A. Sometimes an .074 is called 3/4A.

Here are the engine classes:

1/2A - 0.000 to 0.050

A - 0.051 to 0.1525

B - 0.1526 to 0.300

C - 0.301 to 0.650[/FONT]

Ray,

That Between is a real cutie. It's kinda cool that you have a plane that Randy actually built.

I use one ACE 1016 servo for ailerons and two NARO GWS for elevator and throttle. No rudder. Great flyier, but like a bullet. And with thin fully symmetrical Clark be carefully with elevator! If you move it up hardly, the plane make dangerous spiral and you have no time to resque it.
