Here's one, a Ucan2 by Neofun/Norvel. Powered by a Norvel .061. AUW 24oz, 41" WS. Supposed to be a low wing trainer, but it's a nerve wracker(could be the insane throws) lol. Rolls quick, maybe 1.5/second... and loops tight enough to clip the tail with the prop... well, almost...

Next is a highwing built from the same wing/tailfeathers after the pvc turtle deck let go of the tail while rolling... That was my big complaing, it was always brittle from the nitro and sun. Scratchbuilt fuse, and with the rates tamed down, has been proving a decent trainer for my wife.

Last, another Norvel, this time a .049 being used on a 66" glider that was made for sp400 geared. I had the engine and figured... why not? I'm so glad I did it, it climbs really well, underpower will do rudder rolls and great loops. Cut the engine and glides forever. AUW 25.5oz.

I have a Watt-age Crazy 8 that will likely end up with the .061 once the Ucan2 hybrid dies, and am building an Estes Astro Blaster for Cox .049.

Two new planes for me.

The first plane is a Simple Series Cub built from RCM plan # 946, it has a AP .061 engine. I replaced the 6x3 MAS prop with a Cox 5x3, It is rudder, elevator and engine control. Very stable and easy flyer.
Maiden flight 8-29-04

The second plane shown is a 1/2 A SST built from a out of producion kit, it has a .049 Big Mig Norvel for power. 5x3 cox prop, turns 16,500, two channel Futaba radio with ailerons and elevator. This plane was built by Brent Shank.
Very quick for a .049.
Maiden flight 8-22-04

My COX 049 aerobat

I made this little aerobat by my own plans. It flies great. It would be better even if I somehow manage to made some kind of throttle control (exhaust sleeve??)

Can anybody give me a hint, or better explanation for this throttle control on babe bee engine and how is made.

Almost a Schoolgirl

This is one of two planes built at my club that were inspired from the old Ken Willard Schoolgirl plans.

It features the school girl outlines and was modernized as follows:
Homemade fiberglas fuse
Homemade Carbon fiber landing gear
Home made Foam wings with aileron in upper wing and no dihedral
Semi semtrical airfoil in lieu of flat bottom
Bolt on wings
.074 Norvel R/C

All in all it is nice flyer, however I had expected better inverted performance with the semi semtrical airfoil than I am getting...may be the rudder is too "shaded" by the fuse...will not do an outside loop

here is a ACE ultimate biplane I built for my 3 year old son .. He likes spiderman, so spiderman it was ... Spiderman is also the pilot .. (ill try to get a pic of that later .) power is from a tiny TT .10 (for me this is tyny, as mostly i like to fly jets and overpowered prop jobs)

The little 10 took this thing off of grass, and also rolled out to a nice landing on it ,,, its a fun little plane ..

Had a wattage hawk lying around that wasn't fun anymore on sp400. Shoehorned a norvel 061 ame in the nose and VOILA! 400w/lb!!!

AUW 10oz, est. speed out of a short dive and across the runway around 100mph+. HOOT to fly.
