S & B Me262

Anyone have any experience with this kit? Also, does anyone here in the US sell it or do we have to order from S & B? It is not listed on EAM's site and the few times I have called them, there was not an answer. I really like this plane and would love to get some feedback on it.

Thanks,
Steve

The S & B models are really excellent value. In one of our local clus here in Melbourne their Komet is THE sports model of choice. So far have not seen a 262 but have seen versions of their Spitfire, Tempest and Lightning all have flown superbly. Their finishing technique is different. Easy but different. Once you get the hang of it, all of 15 minutes, you can get an unbelievably good looking model. If you are reasonably competent with paints and I'd guess in the US you'd use Floquil or similar the finish quality is almost unlimited. Take it from me this is a really good place for sport scale models. S & B are very helpful. I have no contact with this company other than as a customer!

Prop driven. That's strange in this sized model.
Very nice lines and detail on the one pictured.

Hi Guys and thanks for the thoughts. The K & A sloper looks interesting; is a tad bit smaller and a lot easier on the wallet.

I to have heard many fine comments about S & B models and love the durability.

I really want a 262. Looks like I have two choices to ponder. I'd still love to hear from anyone who has built and flown either one of these planes.

Thanks!!!
Steve

Hi Kevin and thanks. If it is a build-up kit, I am looking for something that goes together a bit quicker. Have plenty of kits on the shelf right now!

Really looking for some testimonials from anyone who has flown either the K&A or the S & B.

I learned to fly on EPP zags and love the way they bounce so I am leaning towards to S & B even if it is a bit on the expensive side!

Thanks,
Steve

Yes, The Rittenger 262 is built-up. Balsa.
I just ordered a K&A 262 today. Won't build it for a while but could not pass up the sale.
AeroNaut Rafale and Dutokowski Mig 17 are in line to be built before the 262.
I'll let you know how the kit looks when it gets here.

Just to add to the pot. Mani Reiderich, one of our AEFA (Australian Electric Flight Assn.) members has designed, built and flown an EDF Me 262. All glass, approx 2 metres span with an all up flying weight of 5 Kg. I can tell you all that this really is an impressive beast particularly now it is re-equipped with Li-poly cells. Unfortunately I don't think Mani is likely to kit. Will try to obtain some photos for submission.
