Overview

When it comes to getting a great warbird experience, arguably there are few fighters that compare with the history or performance of the North American P-51D Mustang. The E-flite® P-51D Mustang 280 captures the spirit and realism of the original as a fun-to-fly fighter you can fly at a small field or park. Created using durable, smoothly-molded foam material, the P-51D Mustang 280 comes out of the box completely painted with detailed markings of George Preddy’s famous “Cripes A’ Mighty 3rd”. The fit and finish of this nimble electric, 4-channel warbird has been painstakingly engineered, maintaining a true to scale outline to achieve formidable flight performance.

The beauty of this E-flite RC replica is that you can enjoy a great warbird experience in no time at all. All that’s left to do is bolt the wing to the fuselage, connect the included 3S Li-Po battery, bind to your favorite DSM2®/DSMX® compatible transmitter and fly. When you’re done for the day, mount the airplane on the included static display stand and proudly show off the airplane at your home or office.

Excellent news
... a follow-on from the E-flight bnf basic Zero

I hope however that HH have learned from the experiences reported with the Zero
The zero had major problems out of the box
... but when sorted, the Zero flies remarkabley well, and is a real star.

I'll be placing my order soonest.

I am so IN--I'm originally from Greensboro, Preddy's hometown, to boot.

Great write-up, Chuck!
This is a gorgeous looking little plane... but am I the only one who is dying for a P-51B in the foamy/parkflyer world?

Make that 3 of us.

Grady that is cool! I hope he is recognized with a monument or something. Preddy should have streets and schools named in his honor at the very least.

Yes the wing bolts on with a machine screw.

The plane flies great and has alot of power on the 3 cell system.

Video should be up in the next day or so.....

Preddy Blvd. is one of the main streets in town and was dedicated around 1968 or so with a pretty impressive ceremony. I was about 7, so it made an impression. In addition to being the top Mustang ace he's still remembered for how low he'd fly--some of his gun camera and recon photos look like they were taken at ground level!

Well.........ummmmmm.........it's much smaller than the Visionaire, which has AS3X.

I'm not saying that this 280 Size Mustang NEEDS to have AS3X, but I do think that it would usefully increase its wind-handling envelope.

Just wonder what the thought process was.

Don't believe that its 280 size totally answers the question.
