I have both.
The Beaver is by far my favorite (no comparison).
Better run times & more fun to fly.
The Beaver also can handle almost any runway & is easy to take off & land.
The Beaver also comes with floats (i haven't used them yet)
The Skytrainer has a weak nose gear & needs a pretty smooth surface.

I rarely even fly the Skytrainer anymore.

Thanks,,

I just got the Beaver put together and I will maiden tomorrow as weather looks like it will be perfect.
Since I put together (90%) the Sky Trainer but never flew it I have decided to sell it.

Appreciate the review Clive

I love beaver...the plane flies great too.

But seriously, the only gripe I have with my beaver is the paint. It is peeling off with the wind (at least it seems like it).

Carnet is right about the paint.
Most of the problem on mine has been the black, which is easy to touch up.
I have a Tower Hobbies Corsair that the paint comes off even easier.
Paint on most foam planes is not that durable.
I do have a couple of Airfield (FMS) planes that are holding up pretty good.

I'll third the fact that the paint is sub par on foamies, but I think both planes are very nice flyers. For what you get in the box I'd lean toward the Beaver; they love being on floats!

I have both the Flyzone Beaver and FMS Cessna. They are by far my favorite planes. My Cessna is nearly 2 years old and has a couple hundred flights on it and it shows no signs of failing. It is my "go to" plane for most of my aerial photography. It is a very stable platform and just looks good in the air.

My Beaver is a year old and I have flown it both from water and land. I like it so much, I got a second Beaver so I can leave the floats on one and have one on wheels so I can fly either when an opportunity comes up.

It would be hard for me to choose if I had to pick just one of the two, but I would probably take the Beaver just because it offers both land and water abilities. However, I don't think you can really go wrong with either.

Both of mine are covered with vinyl and represent Civil Air Patrol planes.
