4-Stroke project

First pic here.
Over the next couple weeks I should be able to make a new layshaft and some engine mounts. I was hoping to re-use the side plates but due to the way they are cut out for the layshaft bearings and the fact that I am using a pullstart, I can't move them (bearings), or cut them and still mount them properly. The trickiest part is going to be making the custom 90 deg carb intake. This engine's carb intake sticks too farr out the side in stock form. More picks as soon as I get it mounted in the frame.

Hey Mike, I don't want you to rush it, but now that you've shown us the first pic, we'll need a constant stream of them!
Don't give up!

Cool...! Yeah,... i can't wait to see some progress pics also,... looks like a fun project to get bogged down into...!!!

Bend your own 90degree angle pipe with a little hobby pipe bender,... i've seen them at my LHS, not sure what the name of it was though...!

Keep at it.....

Yeah, I looked at that one as well and just knew it would too much to make it fit...if possible. The torque on the 26 should make up for its .5hp if geared right.

I got it at.???? lets see here....

I got the 90deg carb adapter made, machined from solid block of alumnimum. Engine mount next then a new picture.
I'm ACAD'n the new parts too by the way...in case someone else wants to make same part..

I haven't decided yet wether to go with the RCV211 exhaust replica or a Duc 999 or a RC51 style. In any case, the exhaust will be stainless for sure...doesn't tweak as easy when takin' a tumble. heavier but lasts longer.

Hmmm, Should be able to mess about with different pipes to produce your own sweet noise!
Mind you, the 26 might sound a bit fluffy compared to the 40!

Thanks steliosh! Good to be back, at least to be catching up on the 2 wheeled news. But, I just finished a week of tropical beaches and sunshine in Jamaica and the Grand Cayman Islands, and come home to a winter storm warning in North Carolina, 2-3 inches of snow expected tonight. .

Back to the real world. Now to start getting ready for Vegas!
