The final VCO driving voltage post

So for the VCO driving voltage, the manufacturer has a data table which can be interpolated & compared to the mathematically derived curve.

That was an interesting waste of time. When you're dealing with 0.05V differences, it doesn't matter if it's a linear interpolation of the manufacturer's data or a formula. The formula is easier to change.

Anyways, the inconsistencies in the radar reflections are 1 reason which would keep a stationary antenna from working. You need to scan the entire surroundings really fast for any reflective objects, then track the movement of the reflective objects to determine position. There's just no guarantee it would find anything.

1 thing that might work is having a highly reflective target somewhere in the room, then having a gimbaled radar track it from the aircraft. It's the same idea as having a gimbaled camera track an object on the ground, except the radar would have a lot less false positives.

If the reflective target was a vertical metal rod, the radar could track it by only moving on 1 axis.
