With all the publicity against File Sharing ... what about alt.bin usenet?!?

The media's been all over File Sharing, how the RIAA and MPAA are even going up against ISP's ... I'm left to wonder, what about all those alt.bin usenet?!? Even worse, with ng, the ng servers are being hosted by ISP's themselves! Then there's paid services like Giganews. The only reason that I can think of is that 1)ng distribution is still a little more technically challenging compared to the point-and-click Kazza and the likes, 2) it's a catch-of-the-day selection.

Your thots?

Or maybe I've jinxed alt.bins now that the 'secret's' out

ng is abbreviation of the aforementioned term I just edited out ... except for the subject line, which reqiures a Mod to do so

fwiw, type in define:usenet into google for a quick rundown on what it's about.
