GWS Mini and Park servos will be a good choice too:

They are very fast and enough torque!

Hi Sebastien,

Would you cut off a square hole for fitting the aileron servo at the bottom of the main wing, right on its center line. Just refer to the page 4, the size of servo and the length of the two aileron push rods, and the servo mount as well.

Hello guys
OK so I've cut a hole in the wing to mount a GWS S03N servo for ailerons.
today I have glued with epoxy the elevator and the rudder,
I've fixed the landing gear, the motor+mount, the cowl...
So I need now to think where and how I'm going to put the Lipo pack, and to finish the servo+Rx+ESC installation...
wainting for the maiden in a few days or weeks...

Hello!
my Win Wind is almost ready to fly,
maybe the maiden this WE !
with a 12" prop, there is only 3,5cm betwenn the ground and the prop, but 7,3cm with a 9" prop...
There are some little "problems" in my kit :
- no heat shrink for the pushrod
- the EZ link are to small for the pushrod of the kit (I have to put Dubro I have in stock)
...
but everything else is pretty good!

Hi Sebastien,

I'd like to cut a slot on the hard wood push rod, insert and epoxy the piano wire, pack it by 3-ply clear tape or sewing threads/strings.

Have a nice maiden !

Hello!
I have made motor test this afternoon :
GWS brushless motor 3020/8T
Lipo battery 4S 2200mAh 20-32C HXT

APC 9x7,5:
13,71V 24,7A 338W 9630rpm
13,37V 23,5A 315W 9420rpm
APC 10x5:
13,57V 21,7A 294W 9840rpm
13,60V 21,6A 294W 9840rpm
(14,83V 8,3A 123W 7215rpm at half-throttle)
APC 10x7:
13,37V 26,1A 349W 9270rpm
13,41V 26,2A 351W 9300rpm
(14,89V 9,3A 139W 6720rpm at half-throttle)

My WIND WIND weight 1595gr,
it's only missing a light way to fix the lipo pack in the fuselage...

Maybe the mayden tomorrow if the weather is fine here!!!

Hello!
Mayden this morning !!!
very nice flight, nothing to change...
I was alone at the flying field so I hav'nt pictures from flight, but it was nice!
I need to charge the lipo pack to see how many amps the motor takes during the flight...
I have just test rolls and "renversement" (going upside-down with the rudder, I need to find the english word )
the speed is good with the 10x7 APC prop, maybe I will try the 11x5,5 to slow down the landing...
Thanks GWS !!!

Hello!
the front mount for steering landing gear has broken at the 2nd landing, when the plane run out of the tarmac into the ground and hit a hole of mole...
happily nothing else broken! I just need to find a new mount 4 mm steering nose gear http://www.aircraft-world.com/shopexd.asp?id=848
And If I could get some new GWS lipo battery pack, this plane will be 100% GWS from motor to ESC, battery, Rx and servos...
4S 11.1V2200mAh 25C (GWBAP007)
or
4S 11.1V3000mAh 20C (GWBAP008)

Hi Sebastien,

Congratulations for the nice maiden !
It's a heavy airplane, probably finding out a steerable nose gear
for nitro .40 is better.

Hello!
the 2 first flight (5minutes each) take only 750mAh (x2) from the battery :
so WIN WIND need just 9A with 4S (4x3,3V) : 9x13,2= 120W
for a plane weight 1,6kg : 75W/kg !!!

I think that with 350W when full throttle applied, the WIN WIND will disapear far in the sky !!!

Let's see it during the next flights...
I could try to flight 10~15 minutes with the 4S 2200 lipo pack !

Bye

From your data of:
APC 9x7,5:
13,71V 24,7A 338W 9630rpm
13,37V 23,5A 315W 9420rpm

My be that you may try a GWS EP9050X3 to see how it works?
