Byron Beechcraft Staggerwing electric conversion

Hi all,
I have a Byron Beechcraft Staggerwing that currently comes in at 30lbs AUW and is running a quadra 40 gasoline engine, which is rated for 3hp/2.2kw.

This engine is giving me a headache, and the airframe is getting old and can't take much more pounding on it, so i was thinking of electric converting it. I'm thinking a system around 3000 watts or so will give a nice performance boost, while remaining scale and not giving me an opportunity to blow the wings off. The biggest electric system I have set up to date was about 1500W, so I was hoping I could get some help with doing this one.
I'd like to keep it somewhat cheap, but I don't mind spending some extra bucks on good motors or ESCs if I have to.

To keep the CG from being an issue, I'd like to keep the system about the same weight as the engine right now- somewhere in the range of 4-6lbs, spinning a 17-21 inch prop. Also, 8s or 12s is preferred, as I have a lot of 4s 4000 batteries...8s2p or 12s2p could be a good way to go.

Thanks ahead of time,

Check this one out if you're wanting about the same power.
The next biggest RImfire is the 50cc model, which for a 30# model is another option.
