IFLY-4 with C4E controller

It appears that the Ifly-4 is now shipping with the c4e controller, and better esc's.
It makes sense to me to start a new thread for this version, as the electronics for the original quad don't pertain to the c4e any longer!

The correct firmware come in the download section here: http://www.idea-fly.com/en/Download.asp?id=16

FW_IFLYTools1.6 For IFLYC4E------This is the correct download for the c4e controller. DO NOT use the installer for the C4.

UPDATE: UNBRICKING THE C4E
After endless searching the threads for this answer, I have found it!
Here's the instructions, not my doing, just re-posting it, as it took me forever to find it.

U can fix this.

1. You need to reset the controller. I'll tell you how
2. You need to flash 1.6
3. You need to import default txt

Then fly

1. Load the PC version of 1.6 iflytools. Then take an old servo wire and short the outside two wires together (like a bind plug) and put it in P2 slot then without any battery hooked up connect the USB.
2. You should see the yellow dot show up on the software program. Then flash 1.6. Don't forget you always get an error on the first flash attempt. So do it twice. You will see the numbers counting up on the screen
3. Then click the read button on the bottom and you should see the green dot. Now click the import button and import the ifly4_defparameter.txt file.

Lastly you need to calibrate your controller tx throws like you originally did the first time. It's on the control tab

Then go fly. Have fun. Tweak parameters if your good.

As far as I know, which means nothing, if an ifly owner with the 4c controller buys the promised gps, the gps will come with the 4ce controller as well as a retrofit. But I don't know anything more, or for how long it will eligible for an upgrade.

No, I was surprised when I opend up my Ifly, and it had the c4e already in it (Phew!) Also the esc's are different than the other ones. I LOVE this thing. I have replaced on set of motor bearings after 4 battery packs, and it sounds like another 2 are on their way. I lucked out at my rc shop and got the Align bearings for $4 a motor. Other than that, this thing rocks! I would buy another quad from Ideafly based on my first time Ideafly experience so far. The motors aren't really a big deal to me. The esc's barely get warm after 20 min flight times with a gopro style camera.

Doe's any one know how to set up failsafe on there tx I know there all different but you might be able to help.

Fixed wings can be Drones too!

First post could do with some C4E factoids in it. Like what ESC's are compatible, what is the correct firmware/GUI and maybe some suggested settings for a 'stock' ifly4.

That's how it usually works right, else we're still having to trawl through the ifly4 thread.

I wouldn't use anything that wasn't listed for the ifly c4e. 1.7 is under the the v4m catagory. And as some people have rendered their controller null with the wrong firmware, I would be too scared

No its ok you have the same fc as me I have the 4S and have downloaded the 1.7 firmware because I have the GPS .

If like me you download it the wrong way your fc wont connect to the tools its kaput, I was told by a ifly tech guy how to force the firmware in and it worked I was on the verge of buying a new fc so don't worry as long as you put the new firmware in the right order.
