GWS "turbo"

Hi,
Can GWS or other company make turbo for electric plane?
It requires 5 channel radio for the turbo? And need extra battery.

That will be more fun

This would be more of your own setup. Use whatever electronics you so desire, and get it goin!

daryl ... thanks for the link, I had a good laugh Please don't be fooled by such products. I'll try to explain it as brief as possible. Basically the 2-5 relays switch in and out the output to the motor thru a ceremic resistor network; at 'low' speed the resistor takes up the current and turns it into heat, and passed less power to the motor (so all your battery capacity is used to heat up the resistors). At 'tubo' mode all resistors are bypassed and all the voltage is fed to the motor. Resistor controlled motors is something from 25 years ago.

So you want turbo mode on your GWS plane? Fly around with the throttle stick only push forward 1/2 way ... that's your 'normal' mode. To get into turbo mode, push the throttle stick all the way forward - wow, feel that turbo power! Basically the same principle, except that you don't waste all your battery on on heating up a bunch of resistors.

Remember if it's too good to be true ... it usually isn't.
