RER took out the Mothership that was minding her own business as the in-air video platform and it was Rear-Ended by Rubio (RER). The plan was to make passes "around" the MS to get your plane geeked on the the camera - not to take her out (Sorry Rube I need to give you a hard time for at least a couple days)! Then on a different flight, orientation was lost at the end of a horizon-run and the plane went in the Sea.

I have just returned from the Sea. Ian is right. Fermin is the best... I wanted to learn the horizon run. I got scared so far away and paid the price...

Thanks for going down and helping Ian. You are the best. ( and not taking the photo proves it)

who will now never go camping with a couple of you, and only wants to see pictures of the plane.

No Tom it was not in vain my plane is actually quite well the linkage is still moving freely. all I need is a canopy and new electronics. Jordan is going to lay me one up soon.

Once again I am sorry for taking out the Mother ship.
I don't belong in the sky with you Amigos. You all fly so well .
I should have stayed down. (I had made it the few other times).
Live and learn they say...

Good thing I have a good slope over my house. I will practice there

Rubio -

We like having you fly/hang/build with us and we know your flying skills are developing. If you remember "I" was the one pushing you to throw out during our video session! I could tell you were a little reserved but my thinking was you are a part of the Amigos so "be" a part of the Amigos and fly with us. What I like about you Rube is you have taken some hits (planes crashing) and you are still right there with us. IMO this quality will increase your flying skills expodentally basically you are not folding up your tent and going home but you are building a bigger house (which is awesome)! Fermin has epic lift but has a relatively tight flying area compared to other slopes where you can fly to the right or left much further. So at Fermin we have fast planes flying in a small area. Which means by default just flying there with someone else in the air will make you a better pilot quicker because you are forced to fly in the same relative pattern and closer together, again IMO. Now factor-in flying with the Amigos who are basically a bunch of knit-wits (while flying) and are having the most fun when we are buzzing Gittins-Gultch or swapping paint in the pumps and it is time to sink or swim (sorry couldn't resist)!

I will offer a couple tips of what NOT to say when involved in a Midair in which the majority of the fault is on you:

1. Geez, my plane didn't take any damage at all!

What to say/do, IMO:

1. Say sorry, help recover the other plane, but for the next half-hour or so silence is probably your best option (while the other pilot cools down).

So in closing, we like having you fly with us Rubio so don't think any differently! Planes crash an we all get over it (ahem self-admittedly it takes some longer than others)!

Thanks Amigos.
My plane quiver is running low.
I will return to build night in winter.
When fly time is over.

This has been fun.

Thanks

Like Ian said, stuff happens. Everybody takes a plane in now and then, if they fly enough.
I "landed" my Contender (a little rough down the slope) at Lilly's the other day, because I was doing things I don't normally do.
Keep flying and building with the Amigos, and you will learn much.
