Longer ESC wires for KC F/18


After numerous tries to get my KC F/18 to fly on a 480BB Race motor I have decided to go to a BL system. I have read a number of threads on lengthening wires on brushless systems. I am running a 15/16/3 on 12 CP1300 and a TMM 40-3 or a Jeti (red) 40-3. It would be allot easier to lengthen the battery side wires then the motor side wires since I don't think the three wires will fit through the dorsal of my F/18. What do you guys think?

Have seen warnings about voltage spikes that kills the ESC with long battery cables.The preferred long motor cables have been tried in a friend`s EDF model,but gave severe glitches
When doing the other way around the glitches totally disappeard and no 'smoked' ESC yet

My latest,a balsa bulilt RD design F-104 with Vasa65/Mega 16/15/2/TMM 40-3 ESC and 8XFAUP 1950
The battery cables here will be around 20in. (50cm) long. 14swg silicone wire is hopefully enough here at approx 35amp-draw at start?
