hehe, no. it is because it is extremely difficult to envision the scale of a plane or component with pictures. The comparison of the new Artitan to the Penguin using wine bottles conveys the size comparison excellently, imho!

And, hmm, I have 2 5000mah 6S batteries looking for another plane ride. like this

I guess it's an eye of the beholder thing, but I don't find it ugly at all! Reminds me of one of my favorite seaplanes... the Dornier Do24.... and the Catalina, as well. More like the Cat.... Main thing is... will it carry a load and give clear shooting angles? Answer seems to be yes....

I think it looks great. Like a seaplane almost, except with wheels. Very large, this thing would be great for those leisurely flights at altitude. Should be very stable.

Hi Nocomp Good question.
I think other guys also has similiar question in mind.
Yes it can fly with 4S, Why?
initially I tested the Airtitan with the following combo:
Motor 5055(or call 4120) KV 730 (M60k is a little bigger than this)
4S lipo Battery
Propeller 12*6
Static thrust is approximately 4.0-4.5kg
ESC: 80A UBEC(built-in) <this has also been upgraded afterward)
flight weight 5.0-5.5kg
yes, she flown very good because we all knew that it is FPV airplane or some guy use it for AP airplane, anyway not 3D .

I think the designer tends to have a most suitable or more efficient Combo,
otherwise there are lots of other question or complains comes:
1# it is under power man?, feeling not good?
2#why I buy an airplane which can fly 6.0kg but the power is only allow me to fly 5.0kg, not satisfied with current combo!!
3# I would like to fly with 15000-20000mah or load SLR camera or more......
etc....

IMO their is a way out that if flyer would like to FPV fly less than 5.5kg. the following combo could be as reference:
Motor 5055(or call 4120) kv 600-630
Propeller 15*7
4S lipo battery
Max. Static thrust approximately: 4.5-5.0kg

Why? the airplane weight 2.3-2.4kg(including airframe and all reinforcements)
so there are still lots of payload even flying weight less than 5.5kg

I think it's good for the webmaster to list this as the first question for Airtian FAQ
Hi Nocomp, do you mind I quote you original words?

Remember, with everything else equal that higher voltage setup will pull less amps to acheive the same power as a 4s.
