We are going through the day process that the county has deemed necessary. I would not expect us flying anytime time before spring. We are moving forward it's just incredibly slow.

On the upside Poplar Ford is now open year-round from 9 AM till dusk.

I know every likes to use a username on these groups. But since this is club discussion. It would be great to use our real names so folks know who you are. Just a better way to bond.

Our participation in the Leesburg Air show is a GO.

I'm assuming we will be inviting the other Clubs in our area like last year.

Jeremy, our point of contact was happy to have us back. We should have the same display area as last year so we will have plenty of room.

I'll be sending out more info and locking in the pilots for display. Please hold all emails about volunteering until I get more information. Thanks.

Having LCAA and anyone else we can get would be good.
You know inviting the other clubs on our thread or starting a Northern Virginia area thread may not be a bad idea.

My name is Brooks Brinson. I was a NVRC member late 2011. Flew at FARM last year. Moved here from Texas. Been flying for 29 years and worked part time at a huge hobby shop in Dallas. I fly high powered electrics when I can. Have not flown at all in 2013.

Would it be a Northern VA Interclub board? There are 2 NoVA threads currently active, one is more parkflyer gypies, the other is more giant scale and gas.

That would be my idea. The way to communicate between clubs. AMA clubs however. Because of our position with the county. We have to keep in mind that we are encouraging AMA flyers on legal sites. It would be a quick way to communicate and to encourage participation at events that are beneficial to everyone.

Brooks,
We're working on improving the field and getting the eastern approach much better. Hoping a lot of trees come down in a controlled burn by the county. Graveling the road. New shelter. It's really getting better.
Welcome back

We may be moving to the Vienna area in the next year. I have been keeping an eye on the Lorton Field. Good on the trees as I need to get low far out to land most of my ships. Poplar Ford is a bit tight.

Thanks Mark!

Brooks
