Cool

Fried my esc, any recomendations for 3slipo gws ips esc?

My wattage ic10a went up in smoke. Poor thing, it never even flew. I plugged in a freshly charged 3s340 kokam, and smelled something, so quickly unplugged it, and it ws the esc. No, it wasnt reverse voltage. I plugged it together using polarized plugs. I think it just had too high of voltage. LHS is working on a replacement.. Anyhow, I know Jeti and castle creations make a suitable programmable esc for this application, but has anybody any experience doing this? I want the next esc I buy to last a bit longer. Must be able to use bec with 3slipo, and have programmable cutoff voltage. I think the pixy7p cannot use bec with 3slipo, but does have programmable cutoff voltage? Whats the current gold standard in 3slipo capable(programmable) esc for ips?

I am sure the Pixie 7p is fine, with bec, on 3s, but check with Shawn Palmer at Castle Creations. Mine has worked perfectly on 8-cells, 2s and 3s - it is an excellent choice.

This is directly from the CC website:

PIXIE-7P
Programmable Sub Micro Motor Control
Programmable! Ideal for 3 or 4 cell NiCad/NiMH and 2 or 3 cell Lithium packs.

Cheers, Phil

P.S. It says 6-8 cells elsewhere so I have no idea why here it says 3-4 cells! Ask Shawn.

O/K thanks! I just had to be sure I was understanding the 7p info correctly. So, the 7p is not rated to use the bec with 3slipo, but it may be o/k, and the 20p is designed for it.

Yup, sounds like that's CC's position.
