It's a wrap! The 3rd Annual FPV Fly-In

The Pecan Patch will continue to be on the cutting edge of Hospitality for the FPV crowd each and every time.

Splash

The Pecan Patch gang put on another successful FPV gathering

A big thanks go out to Mark and Judy Murdock for hosting the 3rd annual fpv fly-in at the Pecan Patch in Griffin, GA. With over 50 registered fpv junkies and just as many spectators, it turned out to be larger than years prior.

Owner Mark Murdock summed it up in an RCGroups post: Wow what a great event we had. It was made possible by a lot of people who pitched in helped me out with this thing. This was all Goldcraft's brainchild 2 years ago and it just gets better and better. I tried some new things this year, some worked and others maybe not so much. We will continue to try and be on the cutting edge of Hospitality for the FPV crowd each and every time. 59 official entries.... I will admit a few people signed up to be included in the raffle. That being said we did break the 50 pilot mark which was about what I was expecting. There were a lot of noobs just out to learn more from the better pilots and everyone was more than willing to share info. Thanks to Greg Burke, Allen Chervitz, Tripp ,Ho-jazz, Larry, Jay, Rick, Josh, RevoDave and everyone else who pitched in!

Big Thanks to our Sponsors; DragonLabs, Urban Drones, ReadyMade RC, and Atlanta Hobby! We loved the full moon!

You Florida Guys make this so much fun on the last night! Thanks to Bob for all the Apple Pie! This pic almost says it all!

Would it be weird if I was more interested in their ground stations than the planes?

Ha! absolutely not Hajile. Having a ground station fetish is... um... healthy.

is the plane in image IMG_2188.jpg as big as it appears? Or is that a real plane? lol

Looks like a ton of fun, I watched a few hours of the live stream, good good stuff.

Matt,
In the frequency board picture..... there is a print out of Osama Bin Laden....

That was a picture of a 4' x 4' banner we had made. I put that out in the field somewhere for people to try and find.... I guess it was too hard... But I wonder if it could be found on your aerial mapping Photo?

it would have been so awesome for someone to sacrifice a plane in a high speed vertical dive to the target!

^But I wouldn't be sacrificing a plan. Mine can take a hit nose-in

Somehow I ended up having 3 mid-air collisions and was only able to fly out of one of them. Of course, these were all trying for formation flying.
