Good point Mal..the motor can be cheap...but the ESC will cost you about $50. And for some (like myself) who don't have the skills to convert one, we need to buy them. For the performance you would get however...I agree that it is a pretty cheap solution

yea ouch on them as they do put a bite on your pocket.. sorry been busy busy building building.. Im getting there should be two more days and by goodness im done woooohooo.. whew and then some but cant wait for you guys to enjoy something that is simple and yet so rewarding.. pure performance and robust enough to handle the job.. if you keep these planes under 4oz you wont see them breaking much.. I have tumbled mine wing tip to wing tip.. cartwheeling .. on my 3oz version the way I mount the wings helps absorb the loads.. when Im done building I will be posting how to pics... as I mail out all these planes I will have a few days to get the pics posted intime for you to review them prior to getting your planes.. then it should be a no brainer to prep them for flight.... Im going to make a plane taylor made for max speed on CD rom motors useing 3030 3040 4040 props.. The name of the plane is called 100 .... meaning 100mph in stock form made small for park flying and under 4oz. It will eat up sky fast up high where its safe to do so and down low you can use the power to pull 3D speed flying ... I have a test plane made but not flown perhaps I will have time this weekend if the weather is reasonable..

Yea any small brushless should work on the 20 mono.. as as far as the 15.5 wing its got to stay under 4oz..to 4.5oz or it will be a bear to land but not in wind.. float on in.. with a headwind.. I will know more info this weekend on what the 15.5 can handle. will be trying 340's and 850 cells on a 16g brushless..

This is the 16g CD rom motor that AirMover will use to power his airplane. I have built a few CD rom motors in different configuations and have been most impressed with the performance of such small motors.

The spec's for the pylon motor are:
13T .43mm wire
(6) n45 magnets
dual ball bearings
3x2 prop
16g (.55oz) weight

Test results using a Kokam 1200mAH 2s w/3x2 prop
RM = .102 ohms
Io = 1.01A (no-load)
I = 4.78A (full-load)
KV = 4122
RPM = 25,400

Airmover - Did you get your motor today?
