Wooden propeller craze

Not sure what's driving the current wooden propeller craze. Whenever there's no obvious reason, it doesn't last, like the A123 battery craze.

Wooden propellers shatter on impact, while plastic bends but remanes intact. Wood is heavier, more expensive than plastic. The extra weight could add gyroscopic stabilization in a quad & make them easier to balance.

Getting counter propellers for quads remanes about as ball busting as it was 6 years ago. There just aren't as many flying as fixed wings. Counter 12x6 is still nonexistent.

hmm... I believe you are entirely wrong...

An ELECTRIC wooden propeller produces much more lift, and is much lighter than an APC "E" prop...

In 3D airplanes I use either Xoar or Vox props. When it comes to the 12X6 the Vox was some 10 grams lighter than the APC, when it came to the 15x7 to 16" props they were 15-18 grams lighter than APC... MORE thrust, higher RPM, lighter prop=faster throttle control, more rigid/less flex, IE prop doesn't "unload" like plastic props do...

don't forget, less current! which means longer flights!

As for chipping props, learn to land!... Don't mean this in an offensive way, but, seriously... I break a hell of a lot less props than most other people, just be smooth
