While the Stick and Tigermoth fly very well for the cost, they arent for beginners. Too fragile and easily broken.
The wingo is great, but theres one better!
Its the SoarStar. Its a Wingo copy with a geared 400 motor (More power and duration than the Wingo direct drive motor). It also includes a 15 amp electronic speed control, 8 cell battery pack and a charger! The charger works for the time being, but youll want a better one later on. The price is $139. While Hobby Lobby sells em both and says the Wingo is better...its not! They fly EXACTLY the same, but the SoarStar has more power. Hobby Lobby wants you to buy the wingo and the $80 geared motor thats already included with the SoarStar.
For a radio, I suggest the JR Quattro Lite. It has a super small, FM dual conversion receiver and 241 JR sub micro servos. Perfect gear for the SoarStar and then for the Tigermoth (Thats a good second airplane). If you hae more money to spend, buy the JR 421EX Lite combo....not much more than the Quattro and has the same receiver and servos, but has a LOT more functions (Its a computer radio!).
The SoarStar is great because its easier to fly than the others, handles more wind, more abuse and is easier to fix!
