Very nice Degreen,
You always did such nice work rejuvenating used planes. This will be a great addition to your collection. Purrty!

Since the death of my GWS P-38 and I love flying my GWS C-47, I've been itching to get my GWS C-130 (Cargotrans Quad) built and flying. But seems like I always have something else in the way. Definitely going to mod the back end of my C-130 for a servo and work cargo door to drop tiny toy army men paratroopers. I've decided on painting it up as a DC-130A.

I've decided it's time to build my Cargotrans Quad and have chosen a DC-130A CS. But in doing so I'm going to do a working rear cargo door and a 2S 1800-2000mAh lipo setup. Does anyone with experienced building have tips/suggestions on servo placement for the door? I want to minimize interference with toy paratroopers. As well as to any tips about lipo location and access? I'm thinking a battery hatch is needed.

Here's my Cargotrans Quad maiden flight. CG is around 45mm (probably a tad too forward), I need to fix some flex in the elevator push rod, and my throws are about 2x the recommendation from GWS because I like knowing I have enough control in a pinch.

Here was a small project for me doing a refinishing of an almost 9 year old GWS Me109E. I built it back then for my friend. He flew it plenty and has finished flying her many times. Now I have it back for more flying. When was the last time we used to see these early days GWS ARF's around? They are getting scarce. All the new ARFs are so much nicer in foam quality and details. But i have maybe a half dozen GWS planes. I love them. They fly nice for me. All total in the plane finishing was done over 3-4 days.

I still have a few half finished , or not yet started kits ...a FW190 in the loft started(epp?foam)
a half painted AT 6, but the paint is naff, and needing redone
An unstarted islander
plus all the other GWS kits I still fly occasionally

for some reason , the balsa bug has grabbed me lately and the foamies seem to have drifted into the background... probably until later on this year
here's what I an playing with (building) at the moment but using 2812 brushless , and more modern radio set up
