SRV-1 Sub Kit now in a Ready-To-Run Version!

Newly released from DRY DOCK PRODUCTS, the SRV-1 is a beginner level kit that will amaze even the most experienced modelers.

Splash

Introducing the SRV-1

Equipped with (2) powerful side thrusters, over sized dive planes and rudders, this model will out maneuver everything under the water. Flexibility is the key feature of this amazing model. The over sized rudders allow for a very small turning radius.

If you choose to equip your SRV-1 with the dual motor control option, you can nearly spin the sub around its axis! The rotating thrusters allow you to power your sub down, or up to the surface. Link your controls together or keep everything separate, it's entirely up to you.

That what makes this great little boat so much fun! And don't forget to add the lights!

I forgot to mention,,, the guy who makes those,, is VERY VERY nice and he is very generous of his time I think he is one of the nicest sub guys out there and it is a wonderful way to learn how to build a sub from PVC.. He is making the SRV-2 now, and it is really cool.

I don't get it ? an RC sub ? Like.. How do you see it ? Now WHAT WOULD be cool is an FPV Sub ! That makes amazing sense.

"I don't get it ? an RC sub ? Like.. How do you see it ?"

FYI: Most quality Olympic size pools have a diver viewing window underground.
These are sought out for RC sub usage. You can also see it in a pool that
is not to deep.

I think the idea of running something under water is cool. you can see the sub under water in a swimming pool.. or put a camera on it and view the floor of a lake or pond it is neat. that is the point of RC subs.

I cant see any public pool allowing me to rock up with an RC sub ! Sorry. Long range FPV use would be amazing where I live. I could just pop down to the beach and go RC diving !

what lakes have you been swimming in? i love to snorkel in my local lake because i can see things at the bottom in 15 feet of water easily. if it were possible to fpv a submarine, i would absolutely do it, unfortunately getting the signal out of the water is the main problem. this is where ROV's rule the seas, they have a cable to bring the signals to you.

its interesting that you feel FPV is better than seeing from shore... two videos of the same sub at the same pond:

alvin2.mp4 (2 min 8 sec)

vs

Alvin at Colorado Crew 2010 Regatta (6 min 53 sec)

which one is more entertaining?

Well, to be fair, if a sub were setup for fpv, the camera would be able to look around not fixed directly forwards.
Don't get me wrong, i'd be happy operating a sub either way, but if you could use it to look around, it would be cool.
Scale vs function will always be two different worlds, just look at most fpv planes, they are generally very ugly but thats not why guys like them. Being inside the vehicle you gave life to will always be a draw for people.

I guess that's why Thunder Tiger decided to make their SB-1 bright yellow
