I certainly hope so! I can't imagine Fred getting all testy over a couple of quasi-related humorous posts!

I found that part to be informative too. Building light requires finding light materials. Foam plates are on the list for my next grocery store trip.

As far as lightening electronics,I see PCBs that have some(though very little) unused copper between traces and components. WHy not use a dremel tool(micro diamond engraver,or smaller) to cut,or sand these areas away,so that the PCB looks as if it were freefromed? There would be less weight, and the pcb would(maybe)look a bit neater. Im sure sub-gram modelers would be able to shave that extra 0.01 gram off their planes :P

Or just do what a few guys here have done allready and don't use any PCB for subgram planes...

I hate to add fuel to the fire, like many of us I came here to find ways to build lighter but I also agree finding the right materials is key.

That said, Dariy Queen cake sheets are kinda like depron althou slightly curved. Kinda like the foam plates but a little bigger or there are the rectangular ones.

I've picked up dozens of sheets for free just ask the lovely girls behind the counter
