Dualis SW (swing wing)

This new thread has been started because the original thread for a different model morphed into this model so it was decided it may be a better option to start again … so here is the Dualis SW (swing wing)

The wing swing is very simple, very similar to the MDC F-14 … if you haven’t seen it, go to https://www.rcgroups.com/forums/show...t=769451&pp=30 and posts #104, 105, 106, 123, 125 and 126 show the swing build in detail, it should be a little easier on the Dualis as it has 2 x servos instead of one.

If you decide to give it a go, please take pics as you go and post them here … and let me know if there are any problems with parts fitting not quite right, etc.

Happy building

Start of the build, found one or two little mistakes but will change on the plan before posting ... changes made, unless I find more

Little more build today, I covered the wings with clear tape, partly for strength and also for slide ability

The ply wedge in pic 3, I cut into the wing and CF tube to give it strength as this is the pull/push part of the wing swing

Thanks Ghost, looks like there isn't an easy answer, might have to re-think this as it might not be easy for some guys to start re-soldering wires inside the servo.

There used to be available a little inline SERVO reverser. Some even had pots for
adjustments too.
Just BING Servo Reverser

This one is a bit pricey but ...
http://www.servocity.com/html/sr10_servo_reverser.html
this one a bit to cheap ...
http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...dProduct=17033
and another ...
http://www.rcdude.com/servlet/the-19...everser/Detail

However, A MIXED AUX channel for computer radio owners will do the job too.

Bob, it might just b easier to go back to a single servo like the F14, it seems to work OK so long as you have a strong enough servo

If it gets too complicated (or expensive) guys won't build it ... I guess go back to the KISS principal eh! "Keep It Simple Stupid"

Idea!

On the servo arms, I am going to make the center hole net to the control horn boss. This will reduce the torsional load on the arm transferring to the servo output shaft. Need a couple of metal gear servos for this task that are in the 9g case size.

Lockey,

You can purchase slow motion reverse 'flap' servos which may be suitable. Look towards the bottom of this page as an example.

I am just going use the mixing on my Tx to work these servos, using the flap function mixed to the aux or gear channel.

Found these metal gear servos at Hobby King http://www.hobbyking.com/hobbyking/s...arehouse_.html

Should fill the bill and available at the US wharehouse.
