New model Xplorer2 - F5j

I have been fortunate to get one of the first ' light layoup' Xplorer's, made especially for F5j.

The model is 3.8mtr wingspan and finished flying weight is 1650g

I have previously posted info on the model and its assembly elsewhere.

Not being too sure about forum etiquette, I hope pasting this link is OK.

Cheers
Pete

At this point you can't get one from the US supplier as the super light version, according to SUSA, it is only available to 'team members' and /or other 'important/connected' people. I know these versions are out there, but just not available to us 'average' peons, at least in the USA.

Hi,

This is a new layup for F5J. We will have some in the future.
This model is NOT for F3J. It is not made for towing!

Porter, there will be a few super lights finally in 10 days.
If you have an interest give us a call. Add 200 to the x2 cost.

And you are correct, only USA team members got the 53oz 3.5s and the 56oz. 3.8s....and I got one too, but that is it!

Questions? Email me :
[email protected]

Regards,
Bob Breaux

Bob,

So you're saying you will have 56oz 3.8m X2 for F5J in stock in 10 days?
Same fuse as the other e-Xplorers?
Any idea on colors? Thanks.

That thing has a totally new E fuse on it. Looks like a shorter nose, no servo hatch under wing, and massive rudder.

Most propably it has same dimensios as the new F3J fuselage that has been available since late 2011. It was about the time to renew the fuse! Longer tail and bigger rudder improve handling.

What kind of ballast systen does this new fuselage have? A very light Xplorer is about useless as a competition plane if there is no practical way to ballast it. Pictures please
