I tried the motors EOD lists in his opening post with 10amp esc's and they refuse to run with 15" props installed. The page listing states these motors work with 2S-6S and 10amp esc

I can go to 40 Amps maximun of consuption (2c) in case I find strong winds during flight. But I can flight with 17-21 Amps including 200 grams of FPV ( the 66,5 min were without the FPV). My quad weight is 1350 grams, without the battery and the FPV.

I am using a 18 carbon fiber propellers, and Multistar 4822 490RPM motor.
Nice! Get a normal quad to fly that long is amazing. Which TAROT quad did you use?

Only a few ESC are compatible with this motors. I had the same problem first, with DJI ESC's

I thought you somehow make their small quad bigger to handle 18" prop. lol

Do you happen to know which ESCs are compatible? Thanks.

Here a pic of my FPV-Module added to the quad:

@MOFO64
Hobbywing escs are compatible, as far as I tried, I could not get any ESC with simonk to run with these motors, big props and 4S. 66min is a great endurance, keep on pushing!

best regards

The latest version of simonK should have no problems with the rctimer 5010-14 360kv motors. I had some on my hex for awhile using flashed HK 40amp blue series.

You may want to find some better bearings for the 5010-14 from rctimer. I had 3 bearings go bad out of my 6 motors after about 10hrs of flight time. One bearing seized up so bad it smoked an ESC. Maybe I was just unlucky too. =/

It does not matter what ESCs you use with the RCtimer 5010-14 360KV motors they only produce max 150watts which is useless to lift anything heavy...

I'd be glad if I could build my Spidex for flying FPV 20-25 mins...

I'm still buying the eletronics and deciding about motors, esc and battery.
